B8 CONSENT, COOPERATION AND CREDIBILITY: ISSUES AND STRATEGIES IN INTERVIEWING ADOLESCENTS

 

Miriam Wolf is a licensed clinical social worker with over twenty years of experience in the field of child abuse and neglect.  Miriam has served as Director of Stuart House in LA County, one of the first CACs in the nation, as Director of Training at a large non-profit child welfare agency, and as a social worker and therapist in a variety of settings.  For the past nine years, she has worked as a trainer and curriculum developer on topics such as forensic interviewing, sexual abuse, domestic violence and teen dating violence.  Among her consulting projects, Miriam authored National Children’s Alliance’s (NCA) Standards for Membership manual, used by CACs and MDITs throughout the nation, and produced standardized core training modules on interviewing and sexual abuse used to train CPS workers throughout the state of California.  Since 2003, she has served as a long-term consultant for San Mateo County, conducting forensic interviews and providing case and program consultation for the Keller Center, San Mateo County’s CAC.  Miriam is a current board member of CAPSAC, the California Chapter of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (APSAC) and the California Network of Children's Advocacy Centers.  She holds masters degrees in both social work and special education.
