Heidi Stern-Ellis is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has worked in the field for the past 16 years. For over a decade, she has worked at San Diego's world renowned Children's Hosptial and Helath Center, Chadwick Center for Children and Famlies. Heidi has functioned as a trauma therapy clinician, has had an active role in the Children's Behavioral Health Crisis Response Team and is currently the clinical supervisor for one of the trauma counseling teams at the Chadwick Center.
Ms. Stern-Ellis has presented on various topics related to the child maltreatment field. She also provides specialized trainings pertaining to the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender community at the local, state and national level. She is one of the co-founders of CATALYST, a coalition of professionals whose goal is to provide services/advocacy/trainings relevant to LGBT Youth who are at risk. Ms. Stern-Ellis is also working with the National Child Traumatic Stress Network addressing issues of cultural competence in the trauma field. Recently, she co-authored a brief that addressed the needs of LGBT youth.
