D8 INTERVIEW STRATEGIES FOR MULTIDISCIPLINARY TEAMS INVOLVING CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES

 

Project Director in the Center for Opportunities and Outcomes for People with Disabilities and Adjunct Associate faculty member in the Health and Behavior Studies department of Teachers College, Columbia University in New York City.  Special educator by training and specialist in low incidence populations of children having worked with a variety of age groups and populations across the country for more than 25 years in both higher education, public and non-profit organizations. Added interest in the development of training of multidisciplinary professionals related to the issues of child abuse prevention and intervention involving children with disabilities and their families. Worked on several NIH grants involving sexual abuse prevention and statewide initiatives developing multi-media materials related to disabilities.  Produced the CD-ROM on Child Abuse and Children with Disabilities: NYS Perspective 2004 and its sequel, a web-based version (2007).  Long time member of the New York State Children's Justice Task Force, representing disability issues.
