Throughout his career, Thomas Murphy, Deputy Divison Director for the Bridgeport Division of Casey Family Services, has been involved in a broad range of issues involving permanency for children. Thomas is also experienced in guardianship issues among grandparents and other kin caregivers, as well as systems change efforts with probate court personnel, agencies organizations and other parties concerned with helping children and their relative caregivers. Thomas also facilitates a GLBTQI youth group for adolescents ages 18-21 at the New Haven Gay and Lesbian Community Center in New Haven, CT. He has an extensive background in both direct care and policy issues. Prior to joining Casey in 1997, he worked for several years with individuals and families impacted by HIV/AIDS. Thomas holds a Master's of Social Work Degree from Fordham University.
