I11 WHAT ABOUT THE CHILDREN? --- LESSONS LEARNED FROM DOMESTIC VIOLENCE FATALITY REVIEW TEAM

 

Terra Marroquin is currently the coordinator for the Domestic Violence Fatality Review Team with the Office of Violence Prevention, HHSA.  She holds a BA in Psychology from UC Berkeley and a Masters in Social Work from Columbia University.  While at Columbia University she worked in research and published the article, “A Brief Review of Issues in PTSD Research Following the September 11 Tragedies.”  For the past eight years, Terra Marroquin has worked in the field of Family Violence.  Prior to coming to the Office of Violence Prevention she worked at Navy Family Advocacy in San Diego with victims of domestic violence.  She has also held positions in the South Bronx working with youth in school-based violence prevention multi-family group treatment.  Furthermore, she has worked at the SD County DV Hotline, with Emotionally Disturbed youth and their families, and the Casa de Paz Women’s domestic violence crisis shelter serving women and their children.  She is also the proud mother of a two year old son.
