Pam Lawson has been with the San Diego Police Department for 20 years, and has served as an investigator for the department's Child Abuse Unit for nine years.  Detective Lawson has investigated over 500 cases of child abuse including molests, physical abuse, and infant deaths.  Detective Lawson has presented a variety of training courses to both law enforcement and the public since 1989.  She is currently a primary trainer in the Child Physical Abuse training course offered by the California Police Officers Standards of Training.  Detective Lawson is a court recognized child abuse expert.  During her career she received several Commanding Officer citations including two Exceptional Performance citations.  Detective Lawson was also the recipient of the Officer Of The Year award presented by the WPOA as well as the International Women’s Police Officer’s  Association in 1990.
