Paris Goodyear-Brown, LCSW, RPT-S is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor with expertise in work with children, adolescents and their families. She received her undergraduate degree from Duke University and received her MSSW from the University of Tennessee. She pioneered the first play therapy program for the Therapeutic Preschool at Dede Wallace Center before joining Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s Child and Adolescent Pyschiatric Outpatient Clinic where she worked in both the outpatient setting and the school based program. She currently sees children of all ages in private practice and serves as adjunct faculty for Trevecca Nazarene University, guest lecturer for Vanderbilt University, and is conducting research in child maltreatment therapies through the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center for Human Development. Paris has an international reputation as a dynamic and original speaker. She provides supervision, organization consultation and training on many topics related to child treatment. She is the author of two volumes of a series entitled "Digging for Buried Treasure: 52 Prop-Based Play Therapy Interventions for Treating the Problems of Childhood", and an training DVD entitled "10 Peas in a Pod". She has also authored "Gabby the Gecko", a bibliotherapy material aimed at helping children disclose and heal from traumatizing experiences.
