Joaquin Gonzalez has served in various roles within the Los Angeles Youth Network (LAYN) since 1995.  In 2005 he became Program Director and shifted his focus to increase LAYN’s involvement within the Hollywood community and the local social service network collaboration.  He strives to create awareness of the issues that effect homeless and unaccompanied minors.  Mr. Gonzalez works within the local community by being part of the Hollywood Community Police Advisory Board, the Child Abuse Prevention Council and the Hollywood Homeless Youth Partnership (HHYP).  He has also been involved in creating evidence-base programs for homeless and runaway youth in the areas of intimate partner abuse and trauma.
