E2 EVALUATION FINDINGS FROM THE SAFE START INITIATIVE: IMPLICATIONS FOR RESEARCH AND PRACTICE FOR CHILDREN EXPOSED TO VIOLENCE

 

Dana Schultz is a Policy Analyst in RAND’s Health Unit with experience in research design, data analysis, and program evaluation. Currently, Ms. Schultz is the principal investigator on a grant from Casey Family Programs to implement and evaluate a school-based mental health intervention for youth in foster care.  She also serves on the project leadership team for the National Evaluation of Safe Start Promising Approaches.  She recently completed a grant to conduct secondary data analysis using the National Survey of Child Adolescent Well Being. While at RAND, she has also conducted program evaluations for a suicide prevention program, a public health preparedness project, and an initiative to establish interdisciplinary geriatric research centers.  Prior to joining RAND, Ms. Schultz was a Senior Policy Analyst at Westat. While at Westat, she served as the task leader and primary analyst on several major Federal contracts in the areas of child welfare services, child abuse and neglect, missing children, and runaways.
