Dr. Cynthia D. Connelly received her Ph.D. from the University of Rhode Island and completed a NIDA funded postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Washington, Seattle, WA. She is Professor and Director of Research at the University of San Diego Hahn School of Nursing and Health Sciences. She is also a research scientist at the Child and Adolescent Services Research Center (CASRC), Rady Children’s Hospital and Health Center - San Diego and a recipient of a National Institute on Drug Abuse 5-year mentored research award. Dr. Connelly is recognized nationally and internationally for her work designing innovative strategies to improve the identification and management of the TRIAD of depression, intimate partner violence, and substance abuse among women of childbearing age. Emphasizing translational science she is making a significant impact on policy and practice for responding to the TRIAD and associated adverse behavioral, social, and health outcomes within and across racial and ethically diverse populations.
