B11 THE GREENBOOK INITIATIVE: ADDRESSING THE CO-OCCURRENCE OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND CHILD MALTREATMENT
Currently Diana Avery works for Lane County’s Department of Children and Families, as Project Director for the federally funded Education/Technical Assistance grant to end Violence against Women with Disabilities. Over the past five years, Ms. Avery served as Co-Project Director for the Family Violence Response Initiative, AKA the Greenbook project (FVRI). Before joining DCF and FVRI, Ms. Avery worked for 7years as program supervisor for Looking Glass Youth and Family Services/New Roads Program, in Eugene, Oregon. In this position, she supervised and coordinated case management services, street outreach efforts and housing options, and provided training for all New Roads street outreach activities. The outreach program was designed to provide services to street-affected youth around issues of domestic violence, sexual abuse, and sexual exploitation. Ms. Avery's master’s thesis was a comprehensive study of homeless youth in Lane County and she spent five years at Oregon Research Institute on projects related to teen risk behaviors.
