Abstract: Workshop 1 - A panel of professionals, childhood trauma survivors, and family members will present current research that supports the importance of partnering with families and youth in developing and evaluating children's mental health services. Survivors and family members will also speak to how their involvement in such efforts has affected their own healing process as well as helped to improve the services of the agencies they are affiliated with.
Workshop 2 - A panel of professionals, childhood trauma survivors, and family members will provide concrete examples of how they have partnered with one another in developing and evaluating children's mental health services in their respective agencies. The panel will also present an assessment tool that they helped to develop within the National Child Traumatic Stress Network. This tool is designed for agencies to assess their own performance in involving youth and families in areas of governance, outreach, monitoring, evaluation, and clinical care. The tool also offers suggestions to improve upon identified areas of weakness. |
