Abstract: This paper will analyze the dynamic links between armed conflict, meaning the breakdown of rule law and all protection mechanisms, and trafficking in children and young girls, with a special focus on: 1. Theoretical approaches to conflict analysis in West Africa 2. Increased vulnerabilites stemming from conflict and post conflict situations 3. Patterns and trends of trafficking in conflict and post conflct contexts 4. Legal and institional mechanisms to mitigate and combat child trafficking in conflict and post conflict contexts. 5.
