This workshop reviews specialized cognitive-behavioral treatment strategies for work with persons who have intellectual disabilities who have sexual behavior problems.

Abstract: 

This workshop reviews cognitive behavioral therapeutic interventions and the containment model applied to persons with intellectual disabilities who have sexual behavior problems. Modifications and adaptations to treatment are discussed, as well as presentation of sex offender specific intervention strategies based in relapse prevention and risk reduction models. The role of supervision in the pursuit of community and personal safety are also discussed.
