Abstract:

We will review the dermatologic manifestations of physical and sexual abuse. Importantly, we will also review rare and common conditions that mimic signs of abuse. In this way we will refine your diagnostic and recognition skills in an aim to avoid both over- and under-diagnosis. To do this we will review clinical photos of abuse and other skin conditions. A portion of the time will be spent on treatment and management of skin problems that are associated with abuse or the mimics of abuse.
